About Shahin
Shahin Azadegan is a South Australian artist of Persian origin. She has many years of painting experience in the style of traditional Persian miniature. She studied architecture at Tehran University and completed her studies in Australia after obtaining a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design in Adelaide. She has also studied carpet design and decoration, as well as calligraphy and floristry. She now works mainly with acrylic on canvas to create modern paintings that combine elements of the natural world with human existence. Birds are a particularly prominent feature in her artwork, as Shahin believes they have a very special relationship with humanity. In total, she has held seventeen solo exhibitions across Iran, the United States and Australia - along with many more group exhibitions in various locations.
